Sandler Rule #7: No Free Consulting

 

No free consulting. What does that mean?

That means you shouldn’t be giving away your product knowledge, your experience, or all of the expertise that you have in your industry for free.

We can do some education in marketing, and we can do it later when we’re doing customer onboarding, but when we’re in the sale, this process, we need to be doing discovery. We need to be asking as many questions and getting as much information from the buyer as we can throughout the process. And really, nobody likes unsolicited advice anyway.
